Which hotel booking sites in Russia accept foreign cards?

Almost none, as of 2026. Booking.com and Airbnb stopped listing Russian hotels in 2022, and the Russian sites that replaced them — Ostrovok.ru, Yandex Travel, 101Hotels, Bronevik, Tvil — take Russian-issued cards and the Russian payment network. A few have international versions that accept foreign cards for some hotels, so check at checkout rather than count on it.

Why foreign cards fail on Russian booking sites

Since March 2022, cards from global payment methods issued outside Russia are blocked everywhere in the country, online checkouts included. What goes through is a Russian-issued card or the Russian payment network.

Booking.com and Airbnb stopped serving Russian properties the same year, so the inventory moved to Russian platforms whose checkouts are built around Russian cards and the Russian payment network.

The main Russian hotel booking sites

These are the sites Russian travellers use, and between them they list most hotels in the country. All accept Russian-issued cards and the Russian payment network and several offer a pay-at-the-hotel option.

Some of them have an international version that takes foreign cards for some hotels, not all, so look at the payment options at checkout before you rely on it.

  • Ostrovok.ru — hotels and apartments across Russia
  • Yandex Travel (Яндекс Путешествия) — hotels across Russia
  • 101Hotels — hotels and guesthouses across Russia
  • Bronevik — hotels across Russia
  • Tvil — guesthouses and apartments
  • Sutochno.ru and Avito — short-term apartments

How to pay without a Russian card

Three routes work without a Russian bank account, and a fourth is worth a try but not something to count on.

  • Choose "pay at the hotel" where it is offered, then settle in rubles at reception
  • Pick the Russian payment network at checkout and select Промсельхозбанк (PayinRussia / Плати в России) in the bank list — the app opens on its own and you confirm with one tap
  • Where the site asks for a card, enter the card details shown in the PayInRussia app — it works like a Russian-issued card there
  • Try the international version of the site with your own global payment methods — it may go through for some hotels

What to check before you book

Check three things: the payment methods listed at checkout, whether pay at the hotel is offered, and the cancellation terms. If you plan to pay on arrival, remember that reception usually takes cash, Russian-issued cards and Russian payment network QR, not a global payment method.

Mind the amount too. A week in a Moscow hotel can easily run past 15 000 ₽, the balance limit of the app’s basic card. Verify with a passport and a selfie to raise it to 600 000 ₽.
